Common Questions

I've never Kayaked before

That’s fine. Basic instruction is given by one of your friendly experienced guides at the start of every trip. The pace is relaxed and the distances paddled are just right.

What might we see?

Apart from the best of Broome’s coastline, there is an excellent chance to spot sea turtles, migratory birds, birds of prey, fish-life, rays, regular dolphin sightings and the occasional manta ray or solitary dugong.  Humpback whales are often seen close to shore between the months of June and Sept.

Minimum ages, Weight concerns?

The minimum age is 6 years of age.  A stronger adult must accompany smaller children.  Recommended maximum weight of participant is up to 130kgs. Enquire regarding any age or weight concerns.

Where do we go?

The Broome Peninsula has options for kayaking on all 3 sides depending on the season, tides & winds.  Typical locations include Gantheaume Point, Reddell Beach & Entrance Point which are all within an easy 5-10 minute drive from Broome.  Courtesy pick up from your accommodation is provided.

When and what time do trips depart?

The 3 hour trips depart year round and head out daily at various times depending on the tides, weather and time of year.  Enquire for daily times and availability.  Short notice/last minute bookings welcome.

How stable are the kayaks?

The double sit-on-top kayaks have been chosen for their excellent stability, comfort and ease of use for all experience levels. The backrests provide excellent support whilst paddling.

Do we stop somewhere?

Definitely.  Half way through the trip we pull up at a secluded landing spot for a cold drinks and variety of snacks catering for most dietary requirements.  A great time to relax, take some photos, have a swim, explore and mix and chat with your fellow paddlers and guides.
